Two families that never overlap
Asko induction hobs use one of two separate code sets depending on the model, and because the two share no meanings, the model number decides which list applies. Gas hobs, by contrast, carry no fault-code system and are read from flame and ignition behaviour instead.
The F-series family
On the HI1655M-type board the codes run F00, then F0 to F6, plus F7, F8, F9, F99, FA, FC, and a FAN alert, generally pointing at cooling, sensor, or power-module conditions rather than at anything the cook did.
The E/Er-series family
A different induction generation, such as the HI1621G, reports Er03, E2, E3, E5, E6, U400, and Er47 in place of the F-series. Reading an Er-series value against the F-series list, or the reverse, produces a wrong diagnosis every single time.
What to check, and when to call
Ghost-touch and pan-detection faults sometimes clear once the glass is dried and the correct cookware is used, and an overheat cut-out may only need ventilation restored. A code that keeps returning, a dead zone, or a cracked surface wants an experienced technician with the matching genuine OEM or trusted-supplier part.
