A sounding alarm or a lit warning flags a condition without naming a specific fault, so the real diagnosis comes from temperature checks and inspection.
Temperature and frost symptoms
A freezer running warm, or one whose compressor never cycles off, usually points at the sealed system, a failed fan, or a defrost fault, while heavy frost build-up suggests the defrost heater or thermostat has stopped working. Drawers frozen shut are often a sign the same frost trouble is spreading.
Door, noise, and drainage symptoms
Frost forming around the gasket means the door no longer seals, loud vibration points at a fan bearing or a loose panel, and water pooling can follow a blocked defrost drain.
What to check, and when to call
Confirm the seal, the drain, and a clear airflow path before suspecting a part.
